National College helps Proud Young Canadians Launch Successful Careers in Performing Arts

Victoria— The Canadian College of Performing Arts (CCPA) is looking for Canada’s next stars!...the new wave of talent that will join grads on some of the world’s most renowned stages such as Broadway, the Stratford, Shaw and Charlottetown festivals as well as productions on Vancouver and Toronto’s most illustrious stages and all of Canada’s regional theatres.

“We recognize the importance of providing top-calibre arts training,” says Janis Dunning, Co-founder of the College. “We provide extensive scholarships to help Canada’s top talent to become innovative cultural leaders and performers. At CCPA, they learn the importance of the arts to our culture and economy,” says Dunning.

CCPA will accept young men and women who have a desire to launch successful performing arts careers. Auditions for the September, 2010 school year begin in Victoria on Saturday, February 20 and 27, followed by Vancouver on Sunday February 28.

This year’s tour also includes stops in Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton and Kelowna. Video auditions are accepted until May 1. The tour includes the 2010 New Horizons Scholarship contest where one recipient will receive a $2000 scholarship. Judging is based on most promising overall audition performance.
